The Indy AlleyCats were handled by the Atlanta Hustle in a non-conference match last night 25 – 18.
The action in the first quarter was fast paced and back and forth. At the end of the first quarter it Atlanta 6 Indy 5.
Things began to turn for the worse in the second quarter for the AlleyCats. The Hustle picked up their defense and forced the AlleyCats into multiple turnovers. That and a couple of missed assignments on defense allowed Atlanta to increase their lead to 14 – 9 at halftime.
The Atlanta defensive intensity continued in the third quarter. The score at the end of the third quarter was 18 – 12.
The fourth quarter was like the first quarter. Back and forth action throughout the quarter. The AlleyCats scored three straight goals to tighten the game up. The Hustle scored on a 40-yard huck with 10 seconds left in the game to make the final score Atlanta 25 Indy 18.
The AlleyCats were led by Cameron Brock and Seth Gudeman with three goals each. Cam Thatcher and Nicholas Betsch led the AlleyCats with three assists each.
The AlleyCats will be in action on June 1 against the Chicago Union. The game is at Grand Park and first throw will be at 6:30pm.
