INDY FUEL WEEK SEVENTEEN RESULTS 3-0-0

INDY FUEL OVERALL RECORD 25-17-4 (3rd in Central Division)

GAME 43 – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8 VS. ATLANTA – 5-1 W

The Fuel hosted the Atlanta Gladiators for the first time in four years. After both a power play and shorthanded goal, the Fuel ultimately claimed a 5-1 victory over Atlanta.

GAME 44 – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9 VS. ATLANTA – 6-4 W

The Fuel hosted the Atlanta Gladiators for the second night in a row. After claiming a 5-1 victory on Thursday night, the Fuel won a back and forth battle with the Gladiators on Friday and came away with a 6-4 win.

GAME 45 – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10 VS. ATLANTA – 4-3 SOW

The Fuel hosted the Atlanta Gladiators for the third and final time on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 6,380 fans for Wizard & Sock Toss Night. After a tie game led to overtime, the Fuel won 4-3 after a six-round shootout.

  • Zach Jordan recalled to Chicago (02/10)

OIL DROPS

  • After numerous goals and assists over the weekend, Cam Hillis is tied for 11th for overall leaders for points. He is also ranked first in the league for shootout goals with three.
  • Zach Driscoll is second in the league among goaltender wins this season. He is just two games away from tying the Fuel franchise goaltender wins record.
  • Kyle Maksimovich is ranked 18th on the league’s rookie leaderboard. He currently has 15 goals and 20 assists. 
  • Mitchell Weeks in his first game back with the Fuel after over a month faced a penalty shot. This was on Saturday against Atlanta in overtime. Weeks deflected the shot.

TEAM NOTES

  • Because it was Sock Toss Night on Saturday, the Fuel fans in attendance let the socks fly after the goal and ultimately collected 6,343 pairs, the most ever recorded at a hockey game sock toss event. 
  • The Fuel is third in the league in penalty minutes with 782 minutes, an average of 17 per game.
  • With the shootout win on Saturday, the Fuel made three of their six shootout shots. Bringing their shootout-for percentage to 61.5%. While the shootout against is 33.3%.
  • With lots of time on special teams over the weekend, the Fuel power play is ranked 4th overall while their penalty kill is ranked 13th.
