Boys in Blue Announce Signing of Hoosier Karsen Henderlong

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, February 8, 2024) – Indy Eleven has today announced the addition of forward Karsen Henderlong to its USL Championship squad for the 2024 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed, and individual status is pending league and federation approval.

No stranger to the Hoosier State, the Crown Point native was a member of the Indiana Fire Academy from 2016-19 and finished his collegiate career at Indiana University during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Henderlong saw action in 46 matches, making 10 starts, and was part of IU’s NCAA College Cup team in 2022. As a fifth-year senior, Henderlong scored four goals, including one in the Hoosier’s NCAA Tournament victory over Wake Forest to send IU to the NCAA Round of 16, and added three assists. During his true senior season, he tallied two goals and two assists.

Prior to his time at Indiana, Henderlong played at Xavier University, appearing in 45 matches with 43 starts. Henderlong tallied 22 goals and seven assists, leading the Musketeers in goals and points in back-to-back seasons, and was a first-team All-BIG EAST selection in 2021 and second-team honoree in 2020.

During the U-17 and U-18 USSDA seasons, Henderlong tallied 22 goals in only 23 matches, ranking him top 10 in the nation. In 2017, he was selected by the Chicago Fire for the Generation Adidas Cup.

Indy opens the 2024 slate on a two-match road swing beginning at non-conference foe Oakland Roots SC on March 9 before returning home to host 2023 Western Conference Champion Sacramento Republic FC at Michael A. Carroll Stadium on March 23.
