INDY FUEL WEEK FIFTEEN RESULTS 1-2-0
INDY FUEL OVERALL RECORD 20-16-4 (4th in Central Division)
GAME 38 – FRIDAY, JANUARY 26 VS. IOWA – 4-1 W
The Fuel hosted the Iowa Heartlanders for the first time this season on Friday night. After just one goal scored through the first two periods, the Fuel came away with the 4-1 win.
GAME 39 – SATURDAY, JANUARY 27 VS. IOWA – 7-3 L
The Fuel hosted the Iowa Heartlanders for the second night in a row, this time in front of a sellout crowd of 6,475 fans. Ultimately, they fell 7-3 to the Heartlanders.
GAME 40 – SUNDAY, JANUARY 28 AT KALAMAZOO – 4-1 L
The Fuel went to The Glove to finish off the long weekend of games. The Wings came out on top in this one 4-1, despite being heavily outshot.
OIL DROPS
- Kyle Maksimovich is ranked fourth in the league for game-winning goals with four this season.
- Matus Spodniak scored twice in two days over the weekend. He scored, after a lengthy review, on Saturday and was the Fuel’s lone scorer on Sunday.
- Chris Cameron has the most major penalties in the league this season with seven.
- Chase Lang, upon returning from injury, scored quickly in the first period on Friday. He also claimed an assist that night.
TEAM NOTES
- The Fuel are second in the league for PIM with 693. The only team in the league with more penalty minutes is Norfolk.
- The Fuel will travel out of the country for the first time this season to face the Newfoundland Growlers. Then the Atlanta Gladiators will come to Indiana Farmers Coliseum as the Fuel have a long stretch of non-divisional opponents.
- Currently ranked tenth in the league, the Fuel’s penalty kill success rate sits at 81%.
- Through 40 games, the Fuel score most in the second period with 44 goals for in the second frame this season. They also allow the most goals during the second period, with 49 so far.
- The Fuel so far, have allowed 1,096 shots this season which averages out to 27.4 shots allowed per game.
