Indy Trades Pair of Players to Jacksonville

INDIANAPOLIS– The Indy Fuel have announced on Thursday that they have traded forward Luc Brown and defenseman Kirill Chaika to the Jacksonville Icemen in exchange for forward Anthony Petruzzelli and Victor Hadfield.

Petruzzelli, 30, started this season with the Guildford Flames of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) where he played four games before joining the Icemen where he earned six points in 13 games.

Prior to that, Petruzzelli played six seasons for the Fort Wayne Komets, serving as captain for his last two. During that time, he was called up to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2019-20 season where he played four games.

The 5’10” left-handed winger has 16 playoff points for the Komets in five playoff appearances for them. In 2021, he became a Kelly Cup champion with Fort Wayne and brings that veteran experience to the Fuel.

Hadfield, 23, played 68 games for Jacksonville going back to the 2021-22 season after 16 games with the South Carolina Stingrays and four games in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose.

Prior to that, the 6’0” Ontario native played three seasons for the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he scored 26 points in 46 games in his final season.

The Fuel are sending Chaika to Jacksonville after 128 games for Indy through three seasons and Brown after 57 games in Indy beginning last season after a trade with the Wichita Thunder and Reading Royals landed Brown on the Fuel.
