INDIANAPOLIS– The Indy Fuel have announced on Thursday the signing of defensemen Johnny DeRoche and Dilan Peters.
DeRoche joins the Fuel from the Quad City Storm of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) where he tallied four points in seven games. He attended training camp with the Fuel, playing in preseason games with the team.
Last season, DeRoche, 25, played 13 games in the ECHL with the Jacksonville IceMen and Cincinnati Cyclones where he tallied one assist. Prior to his professional career, the Lynnfield, Massachusetts native attended Northeastern University for two years and the University of Vermont for two years.
Peters, 22, joins the Fuel after three games with the ECHL’s Reading Royals and four games with the SPHL’s Birmingham Bulls this season. Last season, the 6’6 defenseman played 20 games for the Wheeling Nailers and seven games for the Newfoundland Growlers.
Prior to that, he played twelve games at Lakehead University where he tallied 65 penalty minutes. The Sarnia, Ontario native also played three seasons in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) prior to his collegiate career.
Additionally, defensemen Ross MacDougall and D.J. King have been recalled by the Rockford IceHogs. Luke McInnis has been placed on the injured reserved list as well.
