Pacers’ Daniel Theis Agrees to Buyout, Set to Sign With Clippers

by Sam Amico

The Clippers seemingly have found their replacement for injured reserve center Miles Plumlee.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, veteran big man Daniel Theis has agreed to a contract buyout with the Pacers and will soon his Los Angeles.

Plumlee went down last week, after Knicks power forward Julius Randle accidentally crashed into his knee while chasing a loose ball. Plumlee suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to miss several weeks.

Theis, 31, has appeared in just one game this season, after playing just seven last year because of a knee injury. He said earlier this month that he’s “not happy” about his end-of-the-bench role with in Indiana.

That should change, at least in terms of getting an opportunity, with the Clippers — who are 0-5 since the trade for James Harden.

Theis has also spent time with the Celtics, Rockets and Bulls.
