ABOUT THE HOCKEY:
INDIANAPOLIS– The Fuel will play the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first time this season on Friday night at home before heading to Cincy to face off with them again on Saturday. After two preseason losses to the Cyclones, the Fuel will look to claim their first win against them this year.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met in the regular season was April 9, in the 2022-23 season where the Cyclones defeated the Fuel 5-3 with goaltenders Beck Warm and Zach Driscoll in net. Seamus Malone, who has since been named captain of the Fuel, scored two goals in that game against Cincinnati.
HILLIS IS HITTING
Cam Hillis has had a consistent start to the season with at least one point in every game except for the November 3 matchup against Kalamazoo. On October 28, he recorded three assists against Kalamazoo. Hillis is still looking for his first goal of the season but leads the team in overall points with seven.
AROUND THE DIVISION
The Iowa Heartlanders won their first game of the season on Wednesday night over the Kalamazoo Wings. Because of their two overtime losses already, they have four points on the season which matches the Fuel’s total. The Wheeling Nailers sit atop the Central division standings with eight points and a 4-1 record.
