Colts’ Julius Brents to Miss Another Week of Practice

by Kevin Hickey

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Julius Brents will miss another week of practice as the team prepares for a road trip against the Carolina Panthers.

Brents is dealing with a quad injury he suffered in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. He didn’t practice at all in Week 8 and was inactive against the New Orleans Saints due to the injury.

Head coach Shane Steichen said it will be another week of missed practice as the rookie heals from the quad injury.

It’s been a tough go for Brents since the Colts selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. He missed the offseason workouts as he recovered from wrist surgery and missed a chunk of training camp and the preseason due to a hamstring injury.

This quad injury will keep him out this week and potentially in Week 10, especially considering the Colts have a bye in Week 11 so they may take the cautious route.

We’ll see how the Colts about replacing him on the boundary after Tony Brown’s struggles in Week 8, but the defense will once again be without a key piece on the secondary.
