Why did you choose the name Frau Blockher?
I watched a lot of Mel Brooks films growing up, my favorite of which was Young Frankenstein. To this day one of my favorite nonsensical jokes in film is when Frau Blucher’s name is said and somewhere off-screen horses whinny.
What’s your favorite part of Roller Derby?
I have a degree in engineering, and I love being able to apply my knowledge to the physics of the sport. At the end of the day, your body is just a bunch of springs on wheels, and I find it fascinating to explore and discuss the WHY behind so many things we do on the track.
Why Circle City Roller Derby?
I transferred to CCRD when I wanted to grow and challenge myself in the sport past what my league at the time could offer. CCRD has always had a reputation for being welcoming and inclusive, so it was a no-brainer!
Name one fun fact about yourself!
Before I did roller derby, I did demolition derby! I have a 4th place and 2nd place title at the Minnesota Anoka County Fair in the women’s mid-size stock division.
