Indianapolis Colts second-round pick Julius Brents made his NFL debut on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in the 22-19 upset win at M&T Bank Stadium.
Brents replaced Darrell Baker as a starting outside corner in Week 3 following the latter’s struggles to open the season.
The debut for Brents went well, to say the least. According to Pro Football Focus, Brents was graded out as the best defensive player for Indianapolis with an 87.6 grade on Sunday.
Brents began his young career with a bang, forcing and recovering a fumble on the Colts’ second defensive drive. Brents was consistently in the right position and looked good in his first career start.
It has been a slow development for Brents, who has dealt with a few injuries since the Colts used the No. 44 pick to select him in the 2023 NFL draft.
However, if Brents continues to build off of his strong debut, the Colts could have a star in the making.
