Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor will be healthy and free of contractual setbacks heading into training camp for the first time since the 2022 offseason. Then he was set to stack his historic 2021 campaign with another dominant season, whereas this offseason is focused on returning to form while building a lasting rapport with starting QB Anthony Richardson.

Taylor headlines a rather inexperienced RB room that features veterans Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson and 2nd-year back Evan Hull, a group of 3 that totals just 434 career rushing yards.

Thanks to his contract being settled with an extension during the early stages of the 2023 season, Taylor has had the opportunity for a drama-free offseason to prepare himself both mentally and physically ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

In that time off, Taylor has maintained his typical offseason standard of staying in shape however this time he’s set to take on a usage rate akin to the backs of yesteryear, aka the 2000s. Who better to instruct and relay a sustainable plan for a high-carry season other than the RB with the 3rd-most NFL rush attempts in former legend and Colt Frank Gore?

This video of Gore’s workout warriors also includes free agent Melvin Gordon, Frank Gore Jr. of the Buffalo Bills, and Indiana native and 49ers rookie Isaac Guerendo.

Frank Gore totaled 2,953 rushing yards and scored 19 touchdowns while missing zero games during his 3 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. Gore’s 16,000 career rushing yards rank 3rd all-time in the NFL landing only behind similar legends in Walter Payton (16,726 yards) and Emmitt Smith (18,355 yards).

Gore currently serves as the San Francisco 49ers’ football personnel advisor within their front office. Although he has ties with an opposing NFL team, his experience and overall imprint on the league serve in itself as a valuable resource for up-and-coming and even already-established NFL players.

Jonathan Taylor and Colts rookies and veterans alike will report for training camp on July 24th with the first practice being on July 25th.
