Obi Toppin is staying in Indianapolis.
A year after being traded by the Knicks, the forward is re-signing with the Pacers on a four-year, $60 million contract right before NBA free agency, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday afternoon.
The 26-year-old, whom the Knicks took No. 8 overall out of Dayton in the 2020 NBA Draft, made waves with his high-flying dunks during his three years at the Garden, but he was stuck playing limited minutes behind Julius Randle.
Still mostly coming off the bench for the Pacers, he carved out a bigger role with 21 minutes a game and set career highs with 10.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, field-goal percentage (57.3) and 3-point percentage (40.3).
He averaged 9.9 points and 3.3 rebounds during the Pacers seven-game second-round win against the Knicks.
For the postseason, which ended with a conference final sweep at the hands of the eventual-champion Celtics, Toppin averaged 10.9 points and 4.4 rebounds a game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field.
