OSHKOSH – The Wisconsin Herd, NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the Indiana Mad Ants 113-109.

Milwaukee Bucks Two-Way player TyTy Washington Jr. powered the Herd with 37 points followed by Ryan Rollins with 23 points. Wenyen Gabriel added a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.

The Indiana Mad Ants top scorers were Quenton Jackson with 25 points and Oscar Tshiebwe with a double-double of 24 points and 26 rebounds.

FIRST QUARTER

The Mad Ants came out shooting hot and grabbed an eight-point lead early in the game.  Ryan Rollins got the Herd started by knocking down a shot from deep. Wisconsin turned up the heat, outscoring the Mad Ants 9-4 to even the game 14-14. TyTy Washington Jr. followed the run with a deep three-pointer to push the Herd over the top. Indiana responded with back-to-back baskets to recapture the lead, but the Herd quickly took back control with two baskets by TyTy Washington Jr. and Chris Livingston. Wisconsin continued to dominate defensively scoring 11 straight baskets to go ahead by 12. The Mad Ants made a small run to cut into the Herd’s double-digit lead, but the first quarter ended in favor of Wisconsin 35-26.

SECOND QUARTER

Indiana opened the second quarter with two unanswered buckets to come within five points. Wenyen Gabriel and TyTy Washington Jr. teamed up for five points to propel the Herd back to a double-digit advantage. The teams traded baskets with the Herd’s lead fluctuating between 11-6 until the Mad Ants broke away with seven points to make it a two-point game. TyTy Washington Jr. connected on seven points to give Wisconsin a 60-53 advantage at the half.

THIRD QUARTER

Ryan Rollins and TyTy Washington Jr. got the third quarter started with consecutive shots to put the Herd up by 11. The Mad Ants quickly responded with five points to make it a six-point game. Wisconsin would not let up and built back to an 11-point edge after a Wenyen Gabriel layup. The Herd didn’t slow offensively and regained eight points to go up 79-62. Each team hit one basket before Indiana got away with seven. The Mad Ants continued their run, adding eight more points to come within nine in the third quarter. The Herd led 88-79.

FOURTH QUARTER

The Mad Ants converted on a put-back layup with the first possession of the fourth quarter to make it a seven-point game. Indiana battled back to within one point at the nine-minute mark.  The Mad Ants connected on another lay-in to go ahead 89-88. Indiana hit one more shot before Wenyen Gabriel and Ryan Rollins combined for five points to push the Herd back in the lead. TyTy Washington Jr. followed with a shot from deep to put the Herd ahead by four. Indiana responded with consecutive three-pointers to tie the game midway through the quarter. The Mad Ants took the advantage after two unanswered baskets. Andre Jackson Jr. threw down a huge dunk to even the game once again. Malachi Smith followed with a shot from beyond the arc to push the Herd on top. The Herd remained hot with Ryan Rollins adding a jump shot to the three-basket sequence. The Herd held on with three sets of free throws to win 113-109.
