Motor City Falls In Battle With Indiana

DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise (11-12) fell short to the Indiana Mad Ants (15-9), 118-110.

At the end of the first half, Kendall Brown scored 20 points and Oscar Tshiebwe grabbed 14 rebounds. Isaiah Wong scored 15 points off the bench in the second quarter alone, which all led Indiana to a 63-54 lead at the half.

Zavier Simpson recorded seven assists and Buddy Boeheim knocked down a couple of three-point baskets in the third quarter alone. Motor City outscored Indiana 30-25 in the quarter.

Indiana shot 40% from beyond the arc in the fourth to secure the win, with Elfrid Payton and Kendall Brown each knocking down eight points in the quarter.

Motor City was led by Jared Rhoden. Rhoden scored 31 points in today’s game after shooting 13-20 from the floor (5-8 beyond the arc). This is the fifth time between the showcase and regular season that Rhoden has scored 30 or more points in a game. Buddy Boeheim followed up with 26 points after shooting 6-9 from beyond the arc. Lastly, Zavier Simpson recorded 13 assists and Jayce Johnson grabbed 11 rebounds for the Cruise.

Oscar Tshiebwe was dominant off the glass with 25 total rebounds. Defensively, he had two blocked shots. He scored 28 points to secure a double-double. Kendall Brown led the Mad Ants with 32 points after shooting 13-16 from the floor.
