INDIANAPOLIS– The Fuel play their first weekday game tonight in Kalamazoo as they take on the K-Wings for the first of fourteen meetings this season.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was the final regular season game of last season on April 16, 2023 where the Fuel headed to Kalamazoo and played in their first and only shootout game of the year. Indy was able to secure the win thanks to a 29 save game from Mitchell Weeks and a shootout winning goal from Colin Bilek who are both back in the Fuel lineup this season.
MARTIN’S MOMENTS
Through two games, Jon Martin leads the Fuel in scoring with a goal in each contest against the Komets over opening weekend. He also leads the team in shots on goal with six across both games played.
AROUND THE DIVISION
Three teams in the Central division have played two games so far but no team has more than two points. The Wheeling Nailers, Fort Wayne Komets, Indy Fuel and Kalamazoo Wings are all tied for first place with two points each. Fort Wayne does have the most goals for with five, but they take on the Nailers this weekend as the Fuel will meet with the K-Wings twice so the standings could easily be shaken up.
